This is the American English version of Cookie Policy (British English original).

The short version
We set no cookies of our own. The only cookies come from Google Analytics (via Firebase), they are used only to count how the tool is used, and they are set only if you consent to the statistics in the banner. Your text is never part of what is measured.
The banner
The banner appears on the first visit to any page, as long as no choice has been saved yet. It describes the one thing we ask about:
- Product improvement & diagnostics (Google Analytics / Firebase)
Two equally reachable buttons, each a single click:
- Reject all — declines. The close icon and a click outside the banner do the same.
- Accept all — consents to the option above.
Rules we follow
- Nothing is pre-selected: you must actively click Accept all before anything is measured, and no analytics cookie is set before a choice is made.
Reject allis as easy as consenting — one click either way, and the tool works identically.- Consent can be withdrawn at any time, as easily as it was given — through the Cookie settings link in the footer, which reopens the banner. No e-mail, no account, no browser settings required.
Cookies
Set by Google Analytics for Firebase, on our domain, only after acceptance.

What they carry: a random client ID used to distinguish individual users. The rough location and device information underlying the statistics is derived by Google from the IP address — it is not stored in the cookies. No text, no keystrokes, no document content, no file names. These cookies are set by Google as our processor; details in the Privacy Policy.
Local storage (same rules as cookies)
Everything else is browser local storage, which the app needs to do its job, so it does not require consent:

Nothing here reaches our servers or Google unless you ask for an analysis or accept statistics.
Controlling cookies
- In the app: Cookie settings in the footer revisits your choice.
- In your browser: block or delete cookies for the site (Settings → Privacy → Site data). Note that clearing site data also deletes the document saved in this browser, so copy your text first.
- Google's analytics opt-out browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Disabling analytics does not affect writing or feedback — the app works fully without it.
Not used
